ARMY DAY 2024

Army day 2024 will be celebrated on 15th of January, on Monday. It would be celebrated as 74th Indian Army day in the national capital.

Why Army Day is Celebrated

It is celebrated to pay homage and salute to the courageous and brave Indian soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for protecting the country. Indian Arny General Kodandera Madappa Cariappa succeeded the British Army General Roy Butcher and became the first Commander-in-Chief of independent India.

Indian Army soldiers are always ready to fight all the hard times at Indian borders as well as with natural disasters. They courageously face all the challenges and difficulties that come their way to save the nation and people.

Army Day Celebration

The Indian army plays an important role during disaster situations in the country since they are dedicated to achieving victory for the country. The day was decided to be celebrated as army day in India to start paying tribute to the sacrificed Indian army soldiers at the “Amar Jawan Jyoti” at India Gate in New Delhi.

After paying homage, an excellent parade including military shows takes place to indicate the new technologies and accomplishments in the Indian Army. Bravery awards including Unit credentials and Sena Medals are distributed on this great occasion.

At the Army Day celebration in Jammu and Kashmir, serving army personnel gets bravery and famed service awards (Sena medals, Vishist Seva medals and etc). In honor of the brave and daring Indian soldiers who died defending their nation, the day has been marked.

Army Day Parade

As part of the army day celebrations, the Indian army soldiers (Indian army bands) perform a parade which includes the display of the BLT T-72, T-90 tanks, Brahmos missiles, carrier mortar tracked vehicles, 155 mm Soltum guns, and advanced light helicopters of the Army Aviation Corps.

On this day, Indian forces pledge to serve the nation and protect the nation against foreign and domestic enemies alike.
