Hindi Divas 2020
Hindi Diwas 2020 will be celebrated all over India on Monday, on 14th of September.
History of Hindi Divas
Many Indian personalities from politics and literature have come together for years and have spoken out in favour of the adaptation of Hindi as the official language of the Republic of India. In addition to Gandhi, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupt, and Seth Govind Das were among the leading politicians who even debated in Parliament and recommended the adaptation of Hindi as an official language.
In 1918, Gandhi Ji recommended Hindi as the first person to speak Hindi as a national language during Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. Finally, on September 14, 1949, Hindi written in the Devanagari alphabet was accepted by the Constituent Assembly as the official language of India. The movement was rejected by all Indian states not speaking Hindi; therefore, English has also been granted official language status.
Significance of Hindi Divas
Although Hindi is the third most spoken language after English and Chinese, it is in danger of disappearing due to the growing popularity of English. Even in India, whose mother tongue is Hindi, English is becoming a widely used language in all states. Hindi Divas is celebrated to keep Hindi alive among people. Speaking and writing Hindi, we take a step forward one day a year to save Hindi from extinction.
Regarding the divas in Hindi, every Indian government office is asked to do its entire official Hindi work in order to preserve our native language from extinction. In Hindi divas, it is recommended to read, speak and write Hindi in Devanagari scriptures, which is important to prevent it from disappearing.

Importance of the Hindi language
Hindi is our mother tongue and everyone in our country must respect and honour the Hindi language. In modern times, with technological development and economic prosperity, the Hindi language is being used less and less by Indians. At present, everyone wants to learn and speak English to succeed in all areas.
But we must not forget our mother tongue and our interest in having a thorough knowledge as well as other necessities to succeed. For each country, language and culture play an important role in connecting people.
The wings of the mother tongue of an economically rich country grow faster when people in other countries want to learn that language, but never believe that their true identity depends on the language and culture of their country of origin. Every Indian must value Hindi language and culture.
It shows the history of India from antiquity to the future. The mother tongue plays an important role in the unification of the population of his country.
This is a very big event that gives people the opportunity to promote the Hindi language. This celebration will spark the enthusiasm of the country’s youth for the Hindi language.
Even after 71 years of Indian independence and 69 years of official recognition of the Republic of India, Hindi is still seeking recognition. As Indian citizens, it is our duty to practice and use Hindi in writing and in conversation to preserve and promote it.
Participate actively in Hindi Divas, whether you are an office worker, a government employee or a student, and choose to use Hindi for all your communications, at least a day.
